ADA Graduate Student Scholarships

 

Applications are open for the 2012 Graduate Student Scholarships of $4,000.00 each, one Scholarship being available to each Dental School.  The School may choose to nominate one person or several recipients to share the Scholarship.

These Scholarships are restricted to graduate students in specialty training programmes to enable them to travel interstate to complete components of their course work.


Scholarships are subject to the following conditions:

  • The Scholarships are not available for overseas travel.  

  • The graduate students must be members of the ADA Inc.   

  • Applications must be supported by a recommendation from the relevant Dean with details of disbursement of the funding.  


The Scholarships are available throughout the calendar year.   





ADA Study Grants for Indigenous Dental Students

Applications for the 2012 ADA Study Grants for Indigenous Dental Students of $5,000.00 each, five of which Grants are awarded each year.

Each applicant must, of course, be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Applications must be on the appropriate form available from ADA Inc. and/or the Deans of the Dental Schools. 

Applications are considered by a panel consisting of the Federal President of the ADA [or his/her nominee], the Federal Vice President, and the Chief Executive Officer.

ADA Study Grants for Rural and Remote Dental Students

 

Applications for the 2012 ADA Study Grants for Dental Students from Rural and Remote Regions of $5,000.00 each are offered in 2012. A total of seven grants are available this year.

Each applicant must comply with the criteria set out in the Guidelines which are available, together with the appropriate application forms, from ADA Inc. and/or the Deans of the Dental Schools.

The Wrigley Company Foundation ADA Community Service Grants 

 

The Wrigley Company, in association with the Australian Dental Association (ADA), is calling for currently enrolled dental students and ADA members to apply for The Wrigley Company Foundation ADA Community Service Grants.

An initiative of Give2Asia in partnership with The Wrigley Company Foundation, the program is open to ADA members and current dentist students.  The program is designed to improve Australia’s oral health and education by helping dentists plan and implement community health programs in their local communities.

Community Service Grants will be awarded to up to seven applicants in Australia for the amount of USD$5,000 each. Applicants must hold an ADA membership with applications open to both dentists and currently enrolled dentistry students.

Applications must be submitted with a completed Community Grant Application Form addressing all guidelines and criteria. Applications for this grant are now closed.

Judging for The Wrigley Company Foundation ADA Community Service Grants will be conducted by the Community Service Grant Review Panel, comprised of four ADA members and one Wrigley representative. Successful applicants will be announced during the ADA’s Dental Health Week (1 – 7 August 2011).

The Wrigley Company Foundation Study Grant for Dental Students from Rural & Remote Regions

The Wrigley Company is proud to be partnering with the ADA to offer dentist students from rural and remote areas the opportunity to apply for The Wrigley Company Foundation Study Grant for Dental Students from Rural & Remote Regions.

This study grant joins the ADA’s existing grants program for dentist students, but is available specifically to dentist students from rural or remote areas that are studying in a regional educational institution, recognizing the additional challenges they face in having to study away from home.

The Wrigley Company Foundation Study Grant for Dental Students from Rural & Remote Regions will award one USD $5,000 grant to an enrolled dentist student that is an ADA member and who is a resident of a rural or remote area of Australia.

Judging for the Wrigley study grant will be conducted by the Grant Review Panel, comprised of four ADA members and one Wrigley representative. The successful applicant will be announced during the ADA’s Dental Health Week (1 – 7 August 2011).

The closing date for applications is June 30, 2011. Applications for this grant are now closed.

RCNA 'Peggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship' Scheme

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, and administered by the Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA), the Peggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are or will by studying at a TAFE (certificate IV and above) or entry level university in:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health worker
  • Allied Health (excluding pharmacy)
  • Dentistry/Oral Health
  • Medicine
  • Midwifery
  • Nursing
Scholarships are available for the start of the 2012 academic year and are worth up to $7,500 per year for part time study or $15,000 per year for full time study.
