Specialist prosthodontic training
To
become a registered prosthodontist in Australia or New Zealand, a
dentist with at least two years clinical experience must complete a
recognised, post-graduate degree specializing in prosthodontics. These
programs take a minimum of three years, full-time study to complete and
provide the post-graduate student with extensive training in all facets
of prosthodontic endeavour.
This level of training provides the
prosthodontist with the skills necessary to undertake complex oral
rehabilitations and coordinate comprehensive treatment plans involving
other dental specialties.

Dental Health Week is a community awareness program coordinated and funded by the ADA. In 2009 the ADA is leading a campaign to target 55 year olds and over and has developed a range of Fact Sheets on oral health care. August 3rd - 9th is Dental Health Week.
