Clinical & Management role overseeing 5 adult clinics Salary: $101,401 - $104,522 p.a plus 12.75% super
Queensland Health is an organisation that is committed to providing quality health services, health education services and achieving good health and well being for the population of Queensland. Queensland Health consists of 38 Health Service Districts, Mater hospitals and delivers a range of integrated services including hospital inpatient/outpatient and emergency services, community and health services, aged care services and public health and health promotion programmes.
Their Gold Coast Health Services District (GCHSD) provides health services to the community of the Gold Coast City through to the border of the Beaudesert Shire and South to the Tweed Heads border. This is a fast growing district, with a population growth of 3.2% per annum. GCHSD provides a number of specialised facilities including the Gold Coast Hospital Robina and Southport Campuses, a range of Community and Mental Health Services, and Dental Services.
A position has now become available for a Principal Dentist for the Gold Coast district. This position is responsible for:
Management, leadership and co-ordination of the 5 adult clinics located at Southport, Nerang, Runaway Bay, Palm Beach and Robina
Provide supervision, coaching and performance management of the clinical and administration staff within the clinics (approximately 30-40 staff)
Co-ordinate the continuing education and professional development of team members within the Oral Health teams
Ensure staff maintain current knowledge, understand and adhere to QLD Health policies and procedures and relevant industry legislation as well as Infection Control guidelines
Ensure that all oral health services practice standards and benchmarks in dentistry
Promote and manage an integrated population wide response to the delivery of Oral Health Services and contribute to health promotion in general, for the target population
Provide clinical dental treatment and education to eligible patients to manage, treat and prevent dental disease
Communicate effectively and regularly with the Director of Oral Health in relation to the adult clinics
Represent the sector at Executive meetings and implement all decision of the Executive
Promote integration between the adult and children’s services working together with the Executive and dental teams
Provide clinical dental treatment across the 5 clinics (70-80% of the role, but negotiable)
May be required to liaise and co-ordinate with tertiary education institutions and provide clinical supervision of students
This position reports to the Director of Oral Health, Gold Coast District. The salary is in the range of $101,401-$104,522 per annum plus 12.75% superannuation. |
