Therapeutic Guidelines - Oral and Dental (2007)

Therapeutic Guidelines – Oral and Dental has been prepared to provide members with up-to-date prescribing information. The publication and CD is the product of the joint efforts of both the ADA and Therapeutic Guidelines Limited. Doctors, pharmacists and other health professionals with prescribing rights can now make informed decisions based on contemporary information on dental issues.

The CD is interactive and can be adapted to most surgery PCs. Back-up help is available if there are installation problems. For broader information on drugs and drug interactions members will need to access MIMS which is available on the ADA members’ website or CDs can be obtained from MIMS to install on surgery PCs.

One copy is free to ADA members, delivered via the March 2007 issue of the News Bulletin. Further copies are available from ADA Inc.

UPDATE: Following new guidelines being produced by the American Heart Association (AHA) and at the request of the Heart Foundation and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, Therapeutic Guidelines have now updated the 'Prevention of Endocarditis' topic.

The topic was revised by a multi-disciplinary expert group chaired by Rob Moulds. The group comprised an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (Professor Alistair Goss), a periodontist (Associate Professor Chris Daly), two infectious diseases physicans, a cardiologist and a cardiothoracic surgeon.

A copy of the new Guideline was delivered to members with the August 2008 News Bulletin. Further copies are available from ADA Inc for $10.00 each + postage for members, $12.50 each + postage for non-members. Alternatively, copies can be downloaded free of charge from the Therapeutic Guidelines website - www.tg.com.au
