The theme for Dental Health Week 2007 is Oral Health For Young Adults (18-25 year olds). Based on this the ADA have created a media release and 3 media backgrounders shown below.

The Fluoride Generation: maintaining teeth for life

Young Australians are among members of the ‘fluoride’ generation who are enjoying greatly reduced tooth decay compared to previous generations.

Stress and Oral Health

Caffeine and energy drink fuelled study sessions, poor diet and oral hygiene habits, fatigue and tension related jaw clenching all contribute to the risk of stress related oral health conditions.

The Search for A Celebrity Smile

Australians are now spending three times more on their teeth than they did 15 years ago, and many are choosing to spend it on “cosmetic” dentistry in their desire to achieve a celebrity smile according to reports
.

Get Smart - Caring For Wisdom Teeth

It’s almost a rite of passage for young Australians to make that first pilgrimage overseas. Along with packing a passport and getting travel vaccinations, dentists say that young people should also get their teeth checked out before taking off.
