Australia Day Honours List 2008

A number of members of the Dental profession were honoured in this years Australia Day Honours List as persons recognized for their contribution to dentistry.

The Australian Dental Association and its members would like to congratulate the following people who were recipients of Awards:

Name: CROSBY, Shandelle Ann
Award: Conspicuous Service Medal
Citation:
For devotion to duty as the Dental Supervisor at Number 1 Air Transportable Health Squadron.

Name: STONE, Penny Valerie
Award: Medal of the Order of Australia
Citation:
For meritorious service as the Fleet Petty Officer Dental in support of Maritime operational capability, and for outstanding achievement in the development of Australian Defence Force Dental Auxiliary operational training and new career structures.

Name: KING, Ross William
Award: Member of the Order of Australia
Citation:
For service to dentistry as a clinician, educator and administrator, particularly in the area of standards and accreditation, and to the community.

Name: MONSOUR, Francis Neville
Award: Member of the Order of Australia
For service to dentistry in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and education.

Dental Health Week is a community awareness program coordinated and funded by the ADA. In 2008 the ADA is leading a campaign to target 30-50 year olds and has developed a range of Fact Sheets on oral health care. August 4 - 10 is Dental Health Week
