Dental Patient Briefing on Swine Flu UPDATE

Swine influenza A, also known colloquially as “Swine flu”, is caused by the H1N1 virus. This is a new (novel) virus which has not previously been identified in North America or elsewhere.


Current interim antiviral recommendations for treatment and chemoprophylaxis of
swine influenza A (H1N1) viruses include the use of either zanamivir or oseltamivir and are available at http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/recommendations.htm
