NSW Regional Dentistry Scholarship
Tuesday, December 06, 2011
Applications are now open for the 2012 NSW Regional Dentistry Scholarship which is sponsored by the Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams.
Senator Williams has committed to assist a student from regional NSW who is enrolled in the first year of their dentistry degree in 2012. The scholarship is valued at $4,800.
Senator Williams commenced the scholarship in conjunction with the National Rural Health Alliance in 2010 as a way of getting more dentists into regional areas.
"A panel will consider the applications, and the scholarship recipient will be selected on the basis of their residency history from the age of 5 in regional NSW, their financial need, and a demonstrated commitment and aspiration to live and work in a regional part of the State.
This year's recipient, Jessica Powell of Tamworth, has just completed her first year at the Orange campus of Charles Sturt University," Senator Williams said.
Application forms and scholarship guidelines are available at http://nrha.ruralhealth.org.au/otherscholarships/?IntCatId=43 and applications close on the 25th of February.
