Closure of Medicare Dental Scheme

Monday, September 10, 2012
The Australian Government has announced that the CDDS has closed to all new patients from the 8th September 2012. Patients who have been referred by a GP for care or are already undergoing dental treatment will need to have all care completed by the 30th November to attract a Medicare rebate. Patients are encouraged to contact their dentist as soon as possible to discuss how this announcement will affect your care. Further details regarding the closure are available at the Department of Health and Ageing website.
