Consumer Price Index – June Quarter 2007 and Dental Services

The Australian Dental Association notes the latest Consumer Price Index data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.2% in the June quarter 2007, compared with 0.1% in the March quarter. The most significant price rises this quarter were for automotive fuel (+9.1%), hospital and medical services (+3.4%), fruit (+8.4%), rents (+1.6%), vegetables (+6.1%), furniture (+3.9%) and house purchases (+1.0%).

In this quarter dental services rose 1.4%.

The CPI rose 2.1% through the year to June quarter 2007. In this same period hospital and medical services rose 5.2% whilst dental services rose 4.5%.
