We are offering an exciting opportunity for a new associate dentist. Please do not waste time applying for this job if you have no intention of moving to and working in the Blue Mountains region NSW.

We are an established practice, with over ‘20’ years in the area, and still growing. We are an independent dental practice with no preferred provider status and looking for a new dentist to join our expanding facility. We are currently in the process of approving and building a new dental practice, and we hope that within 12 months we will be operating out of this new facility.

 As a practice, we pride ourselves on the delivery of exceptional patient care with the latest innovative technology and procedures. We have an OPG/CBCT, intra oral scanner, rotary endodontics, and with our new facility are looking to purchase and enhance our dental technology arsenal.

 Our practice invests in not only technology, but also targeted marketing, training, quality materials and the patient experience. While we will provide sufficient investment into these areas, we will expect and welcome your contributions and collaboration with us, helping us to improve these areas with your own unique talents and perspective.

 While general dentistry is our focus, our practitioners have special interests across many fields, including implants, wisdom tooth surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics. Successful applicants would be interested in not only learning about our current fields of treatment, but also pursuing their own interests and expanding the range of services we can offer to our patients.

 We also organise group or individual CPD training for our team, and have access to the resources from the likes of Jesse Green and his ‘Savvy Dentist Academy’, and Prime Practice. Flexibility to attend and organise further CPD is encouraged and offered to all team members.

 Our Principal dentist and current associate dentist are willing to help mentor and guide our successful new associate through the following ways:

  • Regular and structured meetings with our principal dentist to discuss patients, cases and any issues arising.
  • Regular meetings with management and associates to discuss cases, improvements in the practice, goals, and any issues arising.
  • Available time for you to shadow our dentists on their clinical days.
  • Available time for our principal to shadow you or be available on selected days on request.
  • Open communication and feedback system to ensure a collaborative environment and foster communal growth.  

Our practice is available to open on evenings and weekends, although currently we operate from 8am-6pm most days. There will be requirements potentially in the near future to work evenings and/or weekends. Total hours will be around 38 hours per week. Initially the clinical days will be limited to 2 days, with the other 2 days being involved with shadowing our other dentists and staff to learn the systems and procedures at our practice. This will increase to 3.5 clinical days once suitably inducted. Further clinical time will become available at the completion of our new facility.

Remuneration:

Year 1: $55/hr plus super (casual basis)
Year 2: 33% commission excl. lab fees incl. super (Service Facility Agreement 
Year 3 and beyond: 35% commission excl. lab fees, incl. super. (Service Facility Agreement)

These remuneration rates are flexible and negotiable depending on your performance. You may move through the pay scales at a quicker speed, as other associates have done previously. Once on the 35% commission track an increase in commission will be negotiated periodically.

Skills and experience

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • An appropriate qualification recognised by the Dental Board of Australia
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration with AHPRA
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in Australian private practice. (less than 1 year experience will be considered if the application is particularly great)
  • Current Indemnity insurance.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the practice and externally with other health care professionals.
