Obturation and intra radicular post solutions
Workshops Program
Wednesday 1st May
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Root canal obturation is mandatory after any shaping and cleaning procedure; any technique needs to be simple and easy to control but, at the same time, it has to offer the chance to fulfill residual empty space with plastic and inert material, nevertheless it should simplify tooth restoration.

Modern systems for obturation are simpler and more friendly turning the procedure into a basic practice.
Single cone, warm gutta-percha and carrier base will be analyzed in respect of easiness, control and how any technique can match to the restoring method is to be applied to the tooth.

Restoring plan will influence the method of obturation in case a post is decided as well as according to the tooth and the kind of taper.

Decision making in restoration to be positioned is mandatory at the time of the Endo treatment so to produce a simplified workflow.
Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will have clear indications on how to choose and control obturation methods in accordance to the restoring plan.

NiTi root canal preparation “The Gold Standard and new designs"
Main Scientific Program
Thursday 2nd May
9:05 AM - 9:50 AM

Niti changed substantially the way to shape root canals. Flexibility is the characteristic that distinguishes the Ni-Ti alloy in comparison to stainless steel and it is due to that ability that Ni-Ti files can be used either in rotary motion and in reciprocating motion. Endodontics becomes a simple procedure when it can rely on a more precise canal shape, at the same time in complete safety. Dedicated obturation systems will ease the finalization after the canal is shaped in a simple step by step procedure.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will understand advantages of N-Ti files and how to achieve complete safety in their use.
  • They will have knowledge of rotary motion and reciprocating motion in order to choose which applies best to their needs
  • They will clarify the different obturation methods in order to accomplish complete and controllable filling of the root canal

Lunch & Learn | Endodontic instrumentation and intra canal post preparations
Lunchtime sessions Program
Thursday 2nd May
12:10 PM - 1:40 PM

Endodontics today offers great opportunities in term of simplicity and predictability of results.
Complete understanding of the clinical situation via imaging and planning the treatment through the use dedicated software has become a daily procedure.

Regarding endo files we can count on new designs associated with metallurgic treatments that are able to offer unique features in terms of flexibility and resistance to stresses during shaping procedures.

Reduction of fatigue, control of torque and constant monitoring of the working length is all controlled and directed with a totally new digital and devices that has become a personal partner able to guide and support the endodontist in his daily practice increasing safety and consciousness.

Systems for obturation are simpler and more friendly turning the procedure into abasic practice.
Post-endodontic restoration shows problems and limitations which are very well known. Residual space geometry is not ideal for materials commonly used.

Modern adhesives offer the chance to have better performance in restoration of teeth weather they are vital or non-vital.

A number of evidences state the importance of the coronal restoration of endodontically treated teeth in order to obtain the reestablishment of the system.

Today’s restorative dentistry on endodontically treated teeth is based on modern adhesives and modern composites; yet it has to face a number of problems that will be analyzed through the lecture: treatment plan in relationship to the remaining structure in anterior and in posterior teeth, post placement when necessary in order to obtain simple but, at the same time, better performing tooth structures.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will have clear indications on how to choose and control instrumentation techniques and select obturation methods in accordance to the restoring plan.

Glide Path Management, minimally invasive access
Main Scientific Program
Thursday 2nd May
2:35 PM - 3:20 PM

With the advent of Ni-Ti files all endodontic procedures have become more simple. Even approaching complex and curved canals which are difficult to negotiate Ni-Ti gliders can come in our help. Different gliders will be described during the lecture.
New generation of  Endo files are much smaller than conventional  and are indicated  in order to achieve a reduced and conservative access cavity.
New files are based on new alloy and new designs so to offer conservative shaping, efficiency and safety.
Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will clarify the reasons that may suggest the use of a Glider.
  • They will have a clear view of the conservative access and when that approach is indicated.
  • They will have knowledge  of modern super conservative files in term of alloy and design.
