Dr Robert Margeas

Currently an adjunct professor in the department of Operative Dentistry at the University of Iowa, Dr. Robert Margeas is Board Certified by the American Board of Operative Dentistry. A Diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry, Robert has written numerous articles on esthetic and implant dentistry, and lectures and presents hands-on courses nationally and internationally on those subjects. He is currently the Editor in Chief of Inside Dentistry, on the Editorial Board of Compendium, and is a contributing editor to Oral Health in Canada.

Hands on Experience - Anterior Class IV and Posterior Restorations

In this “Hands on” workshop learn from Dr Bob Margeas as he shares his experience as a busy successful General Practitioner who earns his living from everyday dental practice.
In this practical interactive workshop participants will learn how to create anterior and posterior restorations for maximum aesthetics. 

  • Anterior exercise: You will perform an invisible class 4 restoration utilizing different layering techniques.  Creating incisal translucency, surface texturing and polish will be shown in great detail.  Being able to hide the fracture line will be discussed and shown so there is no shine through. 

  • Posterior Exercise: You will create a class 2 restoration using a sectional matrix to produce tight contacts.  You will learn the benefits of using a modern a Bulk fill composite resin which gives posterior aesthetic results. Key steps in preventing post-operative sensitivity will also be discussed.
