ADA/PFA Emerging young lecturers

The Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA) is dedicated to advancing the boundaries of dental science and to encouraging the pursuit of the highest professional standards for the dental profession. 

A key part of this year’s Congress program, the ADA/PFA National Emerging Young Lecturer Competition presents five ADA Branch-nominated young clinicians who will showcase their clinical skills and research before delegates in a 15-minute presentation, judged by a panel of four judges, comprising representatives of the ADA and PFA.

Dr Linda Gu

Following her graduation from the University of Adelaide, Australia with Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2010, Dr Ying (Linda) Gu worked in regional NSW for two years, before being accepted into the Special Needs Dentistry Residency Program at Westmead Centre for Oral Health, Sydney in 2013.

Dr Shakrukh Khan

A periodontologist who is in the final stages of his PhD at University of Tasmania, Dr Shahrukh Khan’s research explores the effect of improved oral health care on reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

Dr Jilen Patel

A specialist paediatric dentist who completed his specialist training at the University of Western Australia and Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Dr Jilen Patel is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Dentistry at the UWA Dental School and Consultant at Perth Children’s Hospital.
