Running an Event

Hosting a Dental Health Week event is all about getting the important message of oral health, and particularly this year, Oral Health for Busy Lives, out to your patients and community. It’s an important message but that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative and have some fun with the events you plan.

Whether you’re running an event in your practice or in your community, there are a whole lot of things you can do to stage an event that will not only be memorable but which will also get your message across.

Running an event in your practice

The great thing about staging an event at your practice is that there’s no need to go scouting for a venue, hire event management staff or a willing audience. You have them all there! All you have to do then is think up creative ways to get your patients engaged with the great oral health messages you have for them.

For plenty of great ideas, check out the Dental Health Week Event Handbook.

Reaching out to your community

This is your chance to get yourself and your practice out in front of an even bigger audience! Pick your most articulate, outgoing team member and send them out to do a presentation at your local library, mothers’ group, school or community group – anywhere you can find an audience willing to listen.

Promotion tips for busy practices

We get that your patients aren’t the only busy ones out there so we’ve gathered together all kinds of resources such as posters, bunting and fact sheets to name just a few, which you can use however you see fit. There are also great tips for promoting your events, wherever you may stage them, on social media or through traditional media.

And by all means, let us know what you’re doing to mark the event so we can let everyone else know through our social media channels. Email your material to [email protected] or simply tag us on whichever social media platform you use.
