Study Grants for Dental Students from Rural and Remote Regions

Five grants, worth $5000 each, are available from 2021 for dental students from rural and remote regions. 

Eligible applicants must be:

•    Either Australian citizens or permanent resident from a rural or remote region; and enrolled as full-time students in an undergraduate or graduate entry dental degree immediately leading to registration as a dentist and must have completed at least the first year of that degree.

•    Please note that grants are not open to those students who are enrolled in degree courses to qualify as a dental hygienist, dental therapist, oral health therapist, and/or dental prosthetists.

Successful applicants will be selected by a panel appointed by ADA. Award recipients will be required to provide a report of 500 words to the ADA about how they used the grant.
 


Hardship Study Grants for Dental Students to Support Rural and Remote Regions

Two grants, worth $5000 each, are available from 2021 for dental students experiencing hardship, who have demonstrated interest and commitment to working in rural and remote regions on graduation from their studies. 

Eligible applicants must be:

•    Either Australian citizens or permanent resident; and enrolled as full-time students in an undergraduate or graduate entry dental degree immediately leading to registration as a dentist and must have completed at least the first year of that degree.

•    Please note that grants are not open to those students who are enrolled in degree courses to qualify as a dental hygienist, dental therapist, oral health therapist, and/or dental prosthetists.
