
Administered by the Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied health (SARRAH), these scholarships operate under NAHSSS, an Australian Government initiative designed to assist jobseekers and young people to pursue a career in nursing or allied health professions.
There are four scholarships on offer that are applicable to the dental profession:
- Undergraduate (Entry-Level) worth up to $10,000 per year for three years for full-time students and $5000 per year for part-time students
- Clinical Placement which provides funding up to $11,000 for a maximum six weeks placement in a rural or remote Australian community.
- Continuing Professional Development, worth up to $1500 per scholarship, which allows allied health professionals to attend short courses, conferences, non-award post-graduate modules and clinical placements.
- Postgraduate, which provides $7,500 to $30,000 for health professionals to undertake postgraduate studies at a recognised university or educational institution.
