The Australian Schedule of Dental Services and Glossary (The Schedule) 

 Consultation Period 15 June 2020 – 31 July 2020


As a person working in a dental surgery or related dental business, you’ll be familiar with ‘the Schedule’. It is the resource which lists all dental item numbers used in Australia. It’s full name is The Australian Schedule of Dental Services and Glossary (Twelfth Edition) and it is issued by the ADA. If you are a member you will also know the OSG (Online Schedule and Glossary).

The Schedule is used mainly by dentists but also by other dental professionals, government dental programmes, private health insurers and other stakeholders in the Australian dental sector (and also in some international dental sectors).

The Schedule is managed by the ADA Schedule and Third Party Committee which reviews individual item numbers on an ongoing basis and provides a formal update every three to four years. 

A complete review and update of item numbers for the next edition is now underway and interested parties are invited to provide their comments and suggestions for new item numbers or amendments to existing ones.

The ADA will be consulting broadly during this process, starting with the first consultation phase in June and July 2020 and all submissions and comments are welcome.
