Media Awards

The Excellence in Dental Journalism Award was inaugurated in 2009 as a way of raising community awareness of oral health issues through media coverage. With two separate prizes awarded for print media and electronic media, each carrying a cash prize of $5000, the Award encourages journalists to place a much-needed emphasis on good oral health and the significant influence it has on general wellbeing. In turn, it is hoped that this increased focus will motivate government and policy makers to make a greater investment in this important area of public health.

The next Excellence in Dental Journalism Award is due to be presented at the 2019 Australian Dental Congress, with eligible articles needing to be published between 1 January 2017 – 31 December 2018.

Award nominations are now closed.
