The Australian Dental Congress provides the solution to your CPD needs

1 February 2019

Constantly learning and enlarging your skills comes with the territory when you’re a dentist.

But while it might be something everyone enjoys, it can get stressful at times, especially when, as with this year, the CPD cycle is ticking down to its three-year finish on 30 November.

At that point, making up those extra hours before the end of the continuing professional development cycle can feel more than a little stressful, especially if you have put learning and education on the back burner while you have focused on other elements of your career or home life.

This is where the ADA, and specifically, the 38th Australian Dental Congress (1 – 4 May) can help you get back on track. (REGISTER HERE)

With up to 29 hours of continuing professional development hours available for dentists through the main scientific program, the Lunch and Learns session and pre-Congress workshops, ADA members can reach half their minimum CPD requirement in one hit at Congress. Delegates on a tighter time budget are still able to accrue 18.5 hours of CPD simply by attending the main sessions in the scientific program over three days.

The CPD hours accrued at Australian Dental Congress are automatically tracked across to your ADA CPD Log (available at the ADA's CPD Portal), so members can see their CPD hours building in real time. (You can also manually add in items, such as face-to-face events organised by your ADA branch, too.) When you need it, such if you’re being audited by the Dental Board, you can easily download it if required.

The teaching sessions at the Australian Dental Congress program are of the highest standard, designed and developed by a group of dental educators and specialists, including Congress Chair Dr Karin Alexander, an experienced developer of continuing education and Dr Alan Broughton the chairman of the Scientific Program Division. who have tailored each stream to cater for the changing needs of dentists such as yourself. You can pick topics from three separate streams of learning which meet your individual requirements, with every presentation, by speakers from across Australia and around the world, designed to support and enrich your professional practice.

So if you’re worried about meeting your obligations by the end of the CPD Cycle, relax and register for Congress now where you’ll have the chance to hear from the world’s top presenters, explore new technologies and services, and discuss the challenges in the profession while building life and career-enriching relationships with your colleagues from around Australia.
