Updates to Dept. Veterans’ Affair’s dental and allied health services
24 July 2018
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has announced that indexation of dental and allied health payments has been programmed into its payment system.
Part of a commitment by the Australian Government in its 2015-16 Budget, which committed the DVA to “review [and] … re-balance dental and allied health funding arrangements to ensure that services continue to best meet current and future needs of the veteran community”, the new indexed rates
came into effect on 1 July.
The new dental and allied health schedules and fee files are available at
www.dva.gov.au/providers/fees-schedules
The final part of the Review of the DVA Dental and Allied Health Arrangements, which involved consultation with representatives of the veteran community and peak provider associations such as the ADA and informed the development of the
2018-19 Improved Dental and Allied Health Budget measure, is now available.
The first part of the Budget measure will
come into effect on 1 November this year.
This will involve the simplification and streamlining of the dental and allied health fee schedules to bring it in line with
The Australian Schedule of Dental Services and Glossary 12th Edition.
