Dental Health Week 2025: Getting the message out there

- Oral health
- Advocacy
This year from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 August, we’re encouraging everyone to help educate parents, guardians and carers across Australia about how they can help their kids to “reach every S-milestone".

There’s never a bad time to get the message about good oral healthcare out to a (hopefully) willing public, but during the first full week of August every year, Dental Health Week (DHW) gives you a golden opportunity to really bring the message home to your patients and members of the public.
This year from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 August, we’re encouraging parents, guardians and carers across Australia to help their kids to “reach every S-milestone", taking them on a journey from birth through their initial teeth ... and beyond.
To help you get the message out there, we’re created a range of great eye-popping, attention-grabbing resources that you can use in your practice or clinic or out in public.
Five top tips for amplifying your message
1. Decorate your clinic or practice with DHW bunting and posters and run a colouring-in competition using the material provided.
2. Create your own posts for your preferred social media platforms or website using the downloadable digital and web assets.
3. Approach your local school, library or community group and volunteer to do a quick presentation on why good oral healthcare matters.
4. Stage an event or activity at local markets or community event.
5. Deliver a presentation to health professionals in your area on oral health and interdisciplinary care.
